Kalser Glocknerstrasse

An unforgettable experience on Austria's highest mountain

The Kalser Glocknerstrasse is one of the most beautiful ways of approaching Austria's highest mountain and marveling at it in the huge natural area. The 7 km long toll road is also easily passable for buses. From the center of Kals, it leads into the Ködnitztal to the base of the Grossglockner.

The construction of the Kalser Glocknerstraße in the years 1979 to 1980 was a milestone in the development of agriculture and tourism.

At the newly built "Glocknerwinkel" car park you can enjoy the most spectacular view of the 3,798m high Glockner summit and the impressive 360-degree mountain panorama.

Important: the ticket will only be validated at the cash desk when you exit! There are 2 ways to validate: one at the parking lot and one in front of the barrier, on the right, where you can find a pay machine.

The multi-day ticket for the road is available at our reception.

It is also possible to purchase an annual pass, which is available from Monday to Friday 8:00 to 12:00 at the municipality of Kals - € 45.00 plus € 15.00 for the sticker. (can be topped up annually)
