The paradise of hiking, biking, and mountaineering in East Tyrol

Throughout the year, the Hohe Tauern National Park in and around Kals shows its beauty and diversity. During the summer months, the idyllic village Kals turns into a wonderful home for mountain and hiking enthusiasts and is not without reason described as a hiker’s and mountaineer’s paradise. 250 kilometers of hiking and walking trails in the valley and side valleys make hearts beat faster. Numerous hiking and mountaineering routes can be found across the area of Kals, including the Dorfer-, Teischnitz-, Ködnitz-, and Lesachtal.

Kalser Glockner Panorama

 Climbing Park Lucknerhaus

In cooperation with the Kalser Bergbahnen (up to 2,400m) or above the Kalser Glocknerstrasse (up to 2,000m) you can easily get to the starting points for easy and challenging high-altitude hikes or alpine summit ascents. The alpine guides of Kals can accompany you.

Since the opening of the Grossglockner Resort bike park, new trails paired with culinary highlights and special landscapes have inspired the world of mountain biking.

Especially the Ködnitztal knows how to impress, thanks to its unique view of the Grossglockner, the king of mountains.
